Happy Thanksgiving!

This year for Thanksgiving, my family and I celebrated a week earlier because my brother came back from UBC to visit during that time. We celebrated with the traditional turkey and stuffing dinner, and everything tasted really good. However, because we did our family celebration before the long weekend, I was able to go up to Parksville with 7 of my friends for this Thanksgiving weekend!
Prior to this, I had never been to Parksville and so it was really exciting for me! We were only there for 2 nights and 3 days and stayed in a cute little airbnb. Yet, within the 2 nights and 3 days, we explored so much! We visited Goats on the Roof in Coombs, the Englishman RiverFalls, Parksville Beach, Arrowsmith Brewery, Qualicum CheeseWorks and Farm, and Qualicum Beach/mini falls. It was such a nice staycation. Believe it or not, there were actually goats on the roof at goats on the roof! We did a bit of hiking at Englishman RiverFalls to see the mini waterfall and even practiced skipping rocks! At Parksville Beach, we went swimming in the ocean (it was FREEZING!), and we also played beach volleyball! We got to taste test beer at Arrowsmith Brewery, which was pretty cool and something I had never done before. There were so many different flavours, like peanut butter! My favourite part of the entire trip has got to be going to Qualicum Farm and Cheeseworks! I got to cheese taste and there were so many good cheeses, I bought some to bring home for my family! We saw so many animals that we got to pet/feed, such as rabbits, cows, sheep and goats! We even got to see how the cows were milked using robotic hands. This really shows how far technology has advanced from when farmers had to manually milk cows. On top of all the mini adventures I got to experience, I also cooked dinner there, so stay tuned to see my cooking post of the week 😉
