Charcuterie
This week I was super busy just trying to catch up on work so I mainly just snacked throughout the week! So, I decided to make charcuterie a couple times this week! The first time I made it, I made it to-go as little snack pack versions, and the second time I made it with my friends and we did it on a plate! Although both were pretty and delicious, I think they lacked the aesthetic of not having the wooden board.

As you can see from the photos, each charcuterie was a little bit different with different types of fillings. When I was doing this, I was hoping that it would be noticed the variety of charcuterie you could make! I broke down each charcuterie I made with links of the types of cheeses/meats I used.
Charcuterie-To-Go: In my charcuterie-to-go, I had cheese, some small fruits/veggies, meats, crackers and pâté. The cheeses I used were dubliner, double creme brie, and manchego. I also included baby pickles and green olives. For the meat, I chose both soft salami, and a harder type of sausage-like meat called landjäeger (you can buy this from any deli section in grocery stores)! If you look beside the olives and pickles, there is this pinkish brown looking paste called pâté. I used pepper pâté. If you are wondering what pâté is, it is liver paste! Although it does not look or sound the most appetizing, it tastes delicious, and is best paired with crackers, which I paired mine with original rice crackers!
Charcuterie Plate: In my charcuterie plate, I included only soft meats, but instead of just salami, I also included prosciutto (you can buy this from any deli section in grocery stores). For the cheese, I used the same double creme brie, and then a gouda cheese! Then I used a different type of pâté, called herb pâté and these mini croccantini crackers!
As you can see, I did not include fruits and veggies on both charcuteries, I wanted you to see the different types of charcuteries you could make! Although mine were mainly meat and cheese based, you could make various types of charcuterie! Next time, I want to try to make a bigger charcuterie board full of: fruits (such as strawberries, apples, and oranges), alongside vegetables (such as celery, cherry tomatoes and cucumbers), pickles and olives, many more cheeses, more meats, larger portions of pickles and olives, and with a variety of crackers such as the rice crackers AND croccantini crackers. Basically, next time I want to combine my Charcuterie-To-Go and Charcuterie Plate plus adding more fruits and veggies!
